About me

Hi, I’m Nousheen, a first-year MSc Mental Health Nursing student navigating the exciting (and sometimes overwhelming!) world of healthcare. My journey into nursing is a little unconventional – I studied BSc Geography and spent a couple of years working in flood risk management before deciding to take a leap of faith into a completely new. Mental health nursing stood out to me as a chance to connect with people on a deeper level, to support them during their most vulnerable moments, and to be part of a profession that’s both challenging and rewarding.

This blog is my space to share the highs, lows, and everything in between as I navigate this new chapter. From the challenges of starting a new career to the lessons I’m learning along the way, I hope my experiences can inspire, educate, and reassure others who are on a similar path – or anyone considering a career change into nursing.

When I’m not buried in textbooks or on placement, you will probably find me practicing yoga, travelling, or binge-watching medical dramas for “research purposes.”

Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Whether you’re a fellow student, a seasoned nurse, or just curious about mental health nursing, I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s share our experiences and grow together!
